Grif is a roughly 30 Winters-old Large Human Barbarian from the Spire Mountains, where he was recently named tribe wise man. He is a Berserker and uses the Eagle and Elk totems.
Grif led a life of adventure with his tribe. Some of his past adventures include angering a Climate God, incurring his tribe a year-long blindness curse, being pursued during an entire winter by a gang of ogres, and the rage of scorned warrior/sorceress/lover Bedid Avis. During his last days with his tribe, he was set upon by dragon born mounted on Wyverns. Grif was carried off by two dragons. He wriggled free, fell into a lake, and then soon ran into the Chosen family.
Grif carries Winter’s Bite, an ice pick and Talon of Bahomet that also does fire damage. He is fascinated with Dragons and all things that fly. He also carries three javelins that turn into Lightning at the word “Shazam!” He also carries an immovable rod and wears a Cape of the Mountebank. Grif may be the wisest in his tribe, but is ignorant compared to the rest of the world. While writing and mathematics are a struggle for him, he has an almost savant-like skill with puzzles and chess thanks to frequent encounters with a wandering wizard Grif once saved from certain death.
